Student Mobility Grants

Promoting the sharing of knowledge and experience across borders

Through its internship scholarship program, Sentinel North seeks to foster the development of young scientists able to tackle and help resolve complex issues addressed by Sentinel North's research program, and promote the sharing of knowledge and experience across borders.

More specifically, those programs aim to encourage students to acquire new skills and abilities to help them understand and analyze northern issues and/or master technologies that have applications in the North, as well as establish international ties and networks by taking advantage of outstanding research opportunities.

June 14, 2021: Update on International Mobility Support Programs related to the COVID-19 pandemic

Sentinel North's international student and post-doctoral mobility support programs are once again open.

Given the Government of Canada's warnings to avoid non-essential travel outside of Canada, only stays considered essential in the academic cursus of Université Laval students and post-doctoral fellows (e.g.: bidiploma paths, joint supervision and research stays) are currently authorized by Université Laval, under certain conditions, and according to the procedures in effect. Participation in a summer school or a course in an institution outside Quebec could also be authorized if the essential nature of the activity is demonstrated and if it cannot be carried out at a distance. The hosting of students from outside Canada is possible under certain conditions.

We encourage all members of our community to discuss these possibilities with their faculty resources.

Also note that due to the current situation, Sentinel North is accepting requests for support for virtual training through its Training Fund.
