Arctic Snow School in Nunavut: Understanding the local and global importance of Arctic snow
A delegation of students from 15 universities will take part in the International Arctic Snow School from April 1 to 8. This field training activity, which will be held at the Canadian High Arctic Research Station in Iqaluktuuttiaq (Cambridge Bay), Nunavut, will aim to provide a better understanding of the dynamic processes controlling snow, its relation to climate and wildlife, and its importance to the local communities’ way of life in a changing North.

A team of international researchers monitoring the impact of climate change on large rivers in Arctic Canada and Alaska determined that, as the region is sharply warming up, its rivers are not moving as scientists have expected.

Play, Model, Integrate : Advanced Field School in Computational Ecology
With a novel experiential game-based approach, participants to this school will be introduced to state-of-the-art methods for monitoring and modelling behaviour and interactions in animal ecology, under the supervision of experienced mentors from various disciplines like biology, ecology, physics, and computer science.
The school will take place from May 19-26 at the Couvent de Val-Morin (Québec, Canada)
