This Fall, hone your skills with the new online workshops offered by Sentinel North and its partners. With some of the most qualified speakers in their field, these workshops are open to everyone (students, professionals, teachers). Unless noted otherwise, all workshops will be in French.

Sentinel North's 75+ teams engaged in interdisciplinary research are a force for scientific impact with concrete benefits for the North.

Be part of the new generation of scientists for the North! Sentinel North announces its excellence scholarships and postdoctoral fellowships competition, from September 1 to October 13, 2021.

These grants and fellowships aim to encourage the best candidates to undertake or pursue research activities within the Sentinel North research program in an interdisciplinary environment.

Université Laval’s Sentinel North program is enabling teams that are advancing our knowledge on the microbiome. As highlighted below, Sentinel North supports novel interdisciplinary research and the deployment of new technologies to shed light on the Arctic environmental microbiome and its impact on human health.

Nunavik has been hard hit by thawing permafrost, which has caused extensive damage to buildings and infrastructure, made travel in the region riskier, and limited the hunting, fishing, and gathering activities of its inhabitants.

Sentinel North’s communications initiatives aim to highlight interdisciplinary and innovative research of Université Laval’s teams. The success of the program’s outreach and knowledge dissemination efforts stems from the contributions of an engaged community, high-impact publications, and numerous national and international activities.
