Call for abstracts for Sentinel North Annual Meeting 2018

The call for abstracts is now open for the second Sentinel North annual meeting, to be held August 27-30 in Quebec city.

National and international collaborators and partners of the program are invited to join the 350+ Université Laval Sentinel North researchers, professionals and students to enrich discussions and establish new research collaborations to help us improve our understanding of the northern environment and its impact on humans and their health.

Invitation to Pinte Sentinelle Nord

The Sentinel North Student Association invites you to the first Pinte Sentinelle Nord, which will take place on April 5, 2018 at La Ninkasi bar in Quebec City (811 Saint-Jean Street) from 7 pm to 9 pm. This science outreach activity is open to the public and aims to present the research of Thematic Project 3: Microbiomes: sentinels of the northern environment and human health through a series of conferences by the researchers at the heart of the projects.

Biology Symposium 2018

Sentinel North International PhD School Field Report

The first Sentinel North International Ph.D School is currently underway in Nunavut's capital city of Iqaluit. For one full week, 19 students from 15 different universities and various backgrounds are teaming up with 11 northern students and 15 internationally renowned professors and local experts to demystify the complex issue of the changing Arctic cryosphere, in a transdisciplinary and highly technological learning environment.

Opening of the 3rd Sentinel North excellence scholarships and postdoctoral fellowships competition

Sentinel North announces the opening of the third Sentinel North excellence scholarships and postdoctoral fellowships competition, from March 1 to April 10, 2018.

These grants and fellowships aim to encourage the best candidates to undertake or pursue research activities within the Sentinel North research program in a transdisciplinary environment.

Launch of Sentinel North Students Association

Last Fall, the Sentinel North Students Association (AESN) was created to strengthen the sense of belonging of the program's students to its community, as well as to benefit from its transdisciplinary character.

Congratulations to Audrey Laberge-Carignan (Interim President), Christophe Perron (Acting Secretary), Marc-Antoine Bansept (Acting Treasurer), Audrey Picard-Lafond (Acting Communications Officer) and to all members of the committee for their involvement in this new organization.
